                                        Volunteer Opportunities



Program Volunteer: 
Assist with sessions by horse handling or side walking. Program volunteers have the opportunity to groom,saddle, and take riding lessons. Volunteers are asked to be able to walk or jog beside a horse for up to 20 minutes. Volunteers are asked to commit to 2-6 hours a week, for the duration of a 14 week session.  Program volunteers must be 16 years or older, and have some horse handling background.  All MTRC volunteers must attend a Volunteer Training Course, prior to participating in any programs. Volunteers must have their own transportation. 


Office/Fundraiser Volunteer: Assist with mailings, flyers, and coordinating. General office work,  Grant writing, Fundraising events, School and Community events, and our BBQ's. 

Maintenance Volunteer:  Work with facility manager to keep arena, Buildings, and Grounds safe, clean, and manicured.  Construction may be a part of this opportunity.

Volunteer Safety Training Class:  PATH, Intl. Certified Safety Training class. Given by Linda Field, Certified PATH, Intl. Therapeutic Riding Instructor.  You must be Pre-Registered, as the class has a limit.

Volunteer CPR/First Aid Training: Montrose Memorial Hospital. You must be Pre-Registered and paid, as the class has a limit.

Volunteer for Wounded Warriors, 'Welcome Home Montrose'Equine recreation, the magic of the horse and nature, in a peaceful ranch setting. Lets say 'Thanks' in a personal way...

Time: 2-4 hour shift, twice, for the one week they are visiting.
